Müllenbach & Thewald GmbH

Germany’s oldest clay mining company was founded in 1830 by Jakob Müllenbach and Wilhelm Thewald and acquired by Stephan Schmidt Gruppe in 1976. Their finely ground clays are used as glazing, engobe and enamel clays, but also in the sanitaryware and refractory industry and for heavy-clay products. Quality control takes place at the company’s own laboratory in Langendernbach.
